Planting – Choose a sunny location that receives at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily and has well-draining soil. Ginkgos are highly adaptable to various soil types, but be sure to avoid waterlogged areas.

Watering - Water regularly after initial planting, ensuring the soil stays evenly moist but not soggy. During the first few growing seasons, water deeply and thoroughly about once a week to help establish a strong root system. Adjust the watering schedule based on environmental factors like wind, temperature, soil type, and light intensity. To determine when to water, check the soil around the tree down to 2 or 3 inches—if it's dry, it's time to water. Mulching can help retain moisture, but be sure to keep it away from the trunk.

Fertilizing - Ginkgos generally do not require heavy fertilization. If your soil is nutrient-poor, you can apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring.

Pruning – Ginkgos typically do not require much pruning. Remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches as needed. If more pruning is required for desired shape, prune in winter while the tree is dormant.

Winter Hardiness - Hardy down to -25°F, Autumn Gold ginkgo trees thrive in USDA zones 4–9. With extra care, they can also be grown in warmer zones.
